We are so thrilled to be able to showcase the wonderful work of Cornish Artist Melanie McDonald .
 
 Melanie is a contemporary British artist originally from Newquay, Cornwall U.K. Today she is based in Brittany, France.

She has lived in Newquay, Penzance and Falmouth in Cornwall and had her own art gallery for several years in Truro, Cornwall. Over the last few years she has travelled frequently across the Channel from Cornwall to Brittany and eventually fulfilled her ambition to move to Brittany in Dec 07.

"Melanie loves walking on the beach and watching the colours of the sea and sky change. She takes hundreds of photographs of Cornish beachscapes and seascapes. Then she translates the images seen through her camera lens; these are a starting point but instinct soon takes over and she's painting from memory. She tries to capture the texture, colour and form of the beach scene using layers of colour and varied brushwork".
